Camera

A camera is an optical instrument that records images that can be stored directly, transmitted to another location, or both. These images may be still photographs or moving images such as videos or movies. The term camera comes from the word camera obscura (Latin for "dark chamber"), an early mechanism for projecting images. The modern camera evolved from the camera obscura. The functioning of camera is very similar to the functioning of the human eye. 

I can totally say that camera is truly fascinating, without this we can never ever take a record of our history and today’s generation (techno world). Today camera has many purpose, it records our life thru videos, it captures our fascinating and of course the cruelty of this world. The camera itself evolves thru generation, from a very big device to a handheld (palm size) gadgets. Today camera is very used in many forms such as taking a picture of your food “Instafood” (sorry for the pun Instagram user), it records your daily lives, it captures the very everything and anything that it takes glimpses on its own lenses. Without camera being invented I don’t know what would happen in our world today, because we all know that camera has really serves it purpose up to the discovery of the our universe.

SWF is an Adobe Flash file format used for multimedia, vector graphics and ActionScript. 

As far as I know SWF are commonly use in a short animation which you generate or program thru macromedia flash. So why does they use SWF instead of video file formats? Well I’m not really sure for the answer but I do think because it is animated so in terms of quality SWF comes better and the file size generated is much smaller than a video file format. Also SWF is far better in terms of loading (byte size) it means it loads faster and you don’t need for too long just to it see run in your web browser. SWF is readable via Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Integrated Runtime which is a plugin for your web browsers.

Audio Video Interleaved (also Audio Video Interleave), known by its initials AVI, is a multimedia container format introduced by Microsoft in November 1992 as part of its Video for Windows technology. 

A video file format which I know often use in DVD’s or BD’s that is played in Video Players. I’m not too familiar with this file format because I don’t usually encounter this video file format. So the time has come for the main event of the blog. Today’s main topic that I am going to review would be CamStudio. But what is a CamStudio? For a short introduction of today’s topic, it is a simple, direct computer software that record screen (what we do on our computer or laptops) activity to a format of AVI or SWF file. And the very good thing to this software it is free! So do you feel the feeling I wish to express? Well why don’t we go further and let’s start by giving the history of CamStudio itself.

The software Camstudio was formerly released by a company called RenderSoft who were subsequently bought a company called eHelp who used some of the technology in their program such as RoboDemo. Generally the software itself Camstudio is released to the public for free along with the source code. But as soon as it was announced free and the source code exposed the developer itself drop down the project because I think of the financial Issue. So knowing that the software is dropped down by the developer itself, the software gone haywire with bugs and issues. But even though with that said, some kind developer or programmer took the chance to continue this wonderful software, of course it is still free and the source code is welcome to the public. For its inviting some programmer to continue the legacy of this very own software.

Quick question! Who is/are Rendersoft Company? A good question indeed, Rendersoft Software was founded in 1996 developing innovative graphics related software. They have won numerous awards and most of their products are showcased in PC Magazine and known distributors.

CamStudio is an open-source screen-capture video recording software. It is a good screen recording software to use for creating brief tutorials, capture your very own gaming experience, record your web base activity such as clicking and some stuff for tutorials activity, and many more. It is also a simple, direct program that records screen activity on your personal computer or installed devices into a file format AVI or SWF. You may also include or attach audio to the generated records in a way of using speakers or microphone. Marking allows you to add personal text captions and marks in your own video. Sadly it does not offer editing capabilities, so be sure you plan it carefully before you start recording and making your own video. The AVI files can be quite large, but by converting them into Flash file format you can reduce the file size considerably low than the AVI file. The conversion process is slow if you are using a low end PC, but generally it will reduce the file size tremendously, so you might want to give it a try.

Today the popularity of video and video based sharing sites such as Youtube, and other hosting web stream sites is definitely the way to go for sharing information online. It may be handy if you are usually doing a tutorial or screen based activity thus it will help newbies to do the video you are guiding them with.

I have been using Camstudio for about 6 months as of now and I truly enjoyed using this FREE screen capture software to capture my on screen video recording.
